About the Movie
Skeptical grad student Veronica Carpenter (Lynn Justinger) interviews renowned paranormal specialist Dr. Lois Kearne (Fiona Horrigan), a veteran in the field with over twenty years of experience, for her thesis on the relevance of supernatural research in regards to modern psychology. Dr. Kearne invites Carpenter to join her in the field on an investigatory trip to a Brooklyn home that is supposedly “besieged by evil.” Once at the residence of nurse Joan Mills (Catherine Cobb Ryan) and Bethany (Grace Folsom), her recently returned daughter, the investigators are immediately confronted with dark secrets, darker energies, and unexplainably horrific events. Mentor and student soon find themselves at odds, as the mystery of Bethany’s affliction tests the boundaries of all their collective research and experience, forcing each of them to confront her own haunted past and demons. Veronica’s dark family history and a particularly gruesome case which Kearne has longed to forget collide with an intensely malevolent force in their present. Tension mounts, evidence piles up, and soon an explosive final confrontation with “true evil” is all that remains between the light and the “hungry things” that exist …in the dark.
