Lorena Toscano

LORENA TOSCANO began her artistic career as an actress at the age of eight, working in theatre and television, and completing her first studies in the children’s program of the INBA. Alongside her academic and acting training, she continued working as an actress in theatre, short films, and television—the latter being where she dedicated most of her early career. She later refined her film acting skills at the MCTV Collective led by Vanessa Bauche and started her filmmaking studies at the CCP under Ernesto Yañez, specializing in screenwriting and directing.
At the age of 23, she began working behind the camera in various film projects and roles, while still pursuing her acting career. She founded her production company, Quetzalli Films, and began pre-production of her feature directorial debut, Interior 8, with the participation of renowned film figures such as Mario Iván Martínez, Alberto Estrella, Vanessa Bauche, and Angelina Peláez. Unfortunately, the project was halted due to her cancer diagnosis.
However, after a long battle and having overcome the illness, she returned to her work with UNIT 8, now in its short-film version, aiming to showcase the aesthetic, narrative, and the talent of the outstanding team that will accompany her as she resumes the project of her feature directorial debut.
