Dominik Posegger

I’m Dominik Posegger, a film student at FH-Salzburg specializing in directing and screenwriting. Over the past four years, I’ve developed my own cinematic voice and discovered a strong passion for genre filmmaking – especially horror.
Through numerous projects, I’ve learned to take risks and push narrative boundaries. My work intentionally explores the uncomfortable, often overlooked aspects of life.
My credo: push limits, take risks, and don’t try to please everyone.
Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Director Statement

„Der Wurm“ explores emotional dependency and how love can slowly turn into something destructive. At its core is Felix, who believes he has found the love of his life. But what begins as love evolves into a dependency that prevents him from experiencing real, healthy connection.
I’m interested in the point where the need to be loved becomes fear, especially the fear of being abandoned. When self-worth depends entirely on being loved, it creates a fragile dynamic that often leads to suffering. Felix is driven by exactly this fear.
Laura’s transformation into a worm is the extreme consequence of that mindset. In Felix’s eyes, it solves his problem because she can no longer leave him. But this is where love turns into control. What he perceives as care becomes possession, and ultimately, harm.
With this film, I want to show how easily love can slip into a toxic cycle of dependency, control, and abuse, especially when it is driven by fear rather than trust.
