Gordon Phillips

Gordon Phillips is an emerging filmmaker, with The Me in the TV being his second directorial effort. Born and raised in rural south Georgia, Gordon developed a passion for storytelling at a young age, writing horror stories and experimenting with photography and video. After a 20-year career as a trailer/promo editor in Los Angeles working on everything from Buffy the Vampire Slayer to Dark Knight Rises, he decided to pursue a lifelong dream of directing. Drawing on his years-long understanding of pacing and visual composition, Gordon’s films showcase his desire to craft suspenseful, character-driven stories.

Director Statement

I’ve always been obsessed with the idea that our technology is thinner than we think. That a simple television could capture a signal not from a nearby tower, but from a reality entirely distinct from our own. This fascination stems from a lifelong interest in the nature of existence and the possibility of other dimensions hidden just beyond our perception.
My goal was to explore the primal fear of realizing your house sits on a „spot where these things happen.“ With true terror being the intrusion—the moment the chaos from outside finds a way into the mundane, safe space of your home.
