The Color
Nach dem Einschlag eines Asteroiden erwacht die letzte Überlebende einer geheimen Mission ohne jegliche Erinnerung in einer Forschungsstation.
Um zu überleben, muss sie entkommen, geplagt von Amnesie, Verrat und einer unheimlichen Macht, die jede menschliche Vorstellungskraft übersteigt.
Lukas Kunzmann
Lukas Kunzmann is a self-taught filmmaker from Germany with a passion for bringing stories to life through visual effects and directing. As a Visual Effects Artist, he has worked on feature films for Blumhouse Productions, Universal Pictures, Sony Pictures, Amazon Prime, and Netflix.
„The Color“ is his first longer narrative project – a self-financed, low-budget short developed over four years with a small crew.
Director Statement
„The Color“ is a proof-of-concept shortfilm. It was a journey filled with challenges. From building all sets ourselves to just two friends and me doing over 300 VFX shots. NO GENERATIVE AI was used in the making of this film. After over four years, we finally completed this low-budget passion project and are happy to share it with audiences.
I wanted to create a film that works on two levels. A tense, suspenseful survival story that entertains, but also serves as a warning about forgetting our past.
Like hatred itself, the „Color“ takes root in the human mind. The only way to break this cycle is through memory: remembering the horrors that hatred has inflicted on us and humanity in the past.
The claustrophobic setting of an isolated research station and Ewa’s journey are both literal and symbolic: she must physically escape the station, but also confront the uncomfortable truth of her own complicity through silence.
The Color blends suspense, action, and horror with an urgent message: „Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.“
