Julian Wolf, Julian Heinke

Heinke und Wolf – zusammen “Zwei Julians” – sind ein junges Drehbuch- und Regie-Duo aus
Österreich und Deutschland. Ihr erster gemeinsamer Kurzfilm “Hilflos” wurde bei zahlreichen
internationalen Filmfestivals gezeigt und unter anderem für “Bester Kurzfilm” (Athen), “Bester
Studentenfilm” (Rom) und “Beste Regie” (Tokyo) ausgezeichnet. Seitdem hat Heinke im
Salzkammergut drei Spielfilme ins Kino gebracht, während Wolf als Produzent in Deutschland diverse
Kurz- und Spielfilme realisierte. Mit “Das Erbe” kehren sie nun als Duo in die Festival-Auswertung
zurück.

Heinke and Wolf – collectively known as “Two Julians” – are a young screenwriting and directing Duo
from Austria and Germany. Their first short „Helpless“ was screened at numerous international
festivals and was awarded „Best Short Film“ (Athen), „Best Student Film“ (Rome) and „Best Directing“
(Tokyo). Since then Heinke has released three feature films in the Salzkammergut region, while Wolf
has realised various shorts and feature films as a producer in Germany. With “Heritage” they are now
returning to the festival circuit together.

Director Statement

As enthusiasts of the thriller and horror genre, we wanted to tell the story of a serial killer from a different perspective. Although they are often the focus of films, the traumatic and psychological stress and consequences of the people around and among the victims and perpetrators never become part of the plot. Our film therefore deals with the question „What happens when a serial killer raises a child?“ Does the poison drip through? And can psychological trauma of this magnitude ever be repaired?
