Adina Barth

Adina Barth was born in South Tyrol (Italy) in 2000 and lived there until graduating from „Cademia“, a Gymnasium specialised in art. In 2019 she moved to Vienna, where she began to establish herself as a freelance comic artist and 2D animator. In the spring of 2023, she was accepted into the Animation Institute at the Film Academy Baden-Württemberg to persue a Diploma in Animation Directing. Within this context she was offered the opportunity to direct her first animated shortfilm „Tuifl“.

Director Statement

At the core of our project is the sensation of being alone in the mountains at night. To be swallowed up in hip-deep snow that consumes every noise and plunges the air into an unnerving, heavy silence. One will find themselves entirely alone, abandoned. Unprotected. Sharp winds biting into skin, frigid air making every breath burn, mountains looming far into the sky like dark giants, nothing more but a pitch-black shape against the starry sky.
This is the atmosphere we persued to capture and weave into every aspect of the short film.
