Romi Banerjee

Romi Banerjee (born 27 March 1999) is an experienced short film director and a passionate cinephile. His filmography follows a common theme – exploring the intersection of human psychology, control and chaos.
His short films have earned wide recognition across international festivals, including multiple honors for Best Short Film and Best Director. Romi is currently developing a feature-length project; a story that confronts the desperation behind beauty, the cost of ambition, and how grief distorts creation.

Director Statement

„Roomies“ was born from the idea that tension does not always need movement to exist. I wanted to create a film where unease quietly grows inside a seemingly ordinary environment.
The film relies on restraint. I want the audience to sit inside the discomfort, instead of escaping it.
