Jano Pita
Jano Pita was born in Figueras on November 2, 1992.
After four years at the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters of the University of Oviedo, he studied Film and Video Production at the CIFP CISLAN in Langreo between 2015 and 2017. In 2021 he completed the Diploma in Film Directing at the Instituto del Cine in Madrid. He currently teaches horror film classes at the Madrid school Actores Madrid.
A lover of genre films, especially horror and Serie B, he always knew that this was the film he wanted to make. In his work you can see that taste for seventies horror films, homemade visual effects and the film genre as a tool to tell more universal stories. His previous short film, Teratoma (2021), has been selected and awarded in more than 40 genre festivals. His latest short film, Apotemnofilia (2023), has been selected at the prestigious SXSW and nominated four times for the Melies d’Argent.
