Tristan Seever
Award Winning Writer/Director/Actor – Tristan Seever (30) was born and raised in Mesa, Arizona. Ever since a young age, Tristan has had a fascination with storytelling and creating visual arts. He has vivid memories from his childhood, when he would create plays and home movies to showcase to his friends and family, self-proclaiming that he would one day become a movie director.
Over the years, Seever would take on many roles as Cinematographer and Editor on various movie projects.
Seever even took on acting roles in 2023 and 2024, working with huge name music artists such as Twenty One Pilots and NF on their latest music videos. Seever worked both in front of and behind the camera with big time directors and cinematographers in the industry, gaining invaluable experience in the process.
Seever is now set to release his first Writer/Directorial debut „CHIMP“, a short horror film starring his fiancée Julia Tower. Together, Seever and Tower worked together to create a unique visionary experience unlike anything else in the horror genre. Seever settled for nothing short of exceptional original storytelling throughout CHIMP’s 13 minute runtime.
While still in the early days of their festival run, “Chimp” has already received widespread acclaim for its innovative approach to storytelling. Tristan Seever won the award for ‘Best Director’ at the Houston Horror Film Festival amongst the 400+ other amazing films submitted. They also took home the award for ‘Best Horror, Sci-Fi, Fantasy’ at the prestigious French Duck Festival based out of Paris, France.
Starring a strong female lead, Julia Tower expertly performs her role with a level of grace and delicacy that helps the audience understand her goals and backstory without needing to use words.
„CHIMP“ will be the first of many visionary offerings that Tristan Seever will contribute to the film industry.
Directors Statement
My latest short film „CHIMP“ has been a labor of love for the past 2 years. My fiancée and I wanted to create something truly unique for horror fanatics (like us) to sink their teeth into.
We knew “CHIMP” needed to tell a cohesive story in a unique way. Our goal was to tell a story about self-love and trauma, and the complexities that intertwine them. We also filled this atmospheric world with lore and history, to make it feel lived in. This also gives audiences more to discover with each consecutive watch.
From creating complex miniatures, practical creature effects, to dealing with fire and snow, and complex fight sequences, “CHIMP” proved to be a monumental undertaking. Committed to see it to completion, we poured our hearts and souls into every aspect of production.
“CHIMP” is not yet available anywhere online as we’ve been premiering it in select festivals around the world. We are selective as to which festivals we submit to as we want each festival to have premiere status in their respective major city. We are thrilled to hear about all the positive audience feedback and to have received awards such as “Best Horror, Sci-Fi, Fantasy” and a nomination for ‘Best Director’ in major global festivals.
“CHIMP” is still in the early days of its festival run and we look forward to sharing it with more movie lovers all around the world.
