Jérémy Barlozzo

Jérémy Barlozzo is a French director. His first short film, „I Don’t Know,“ garnered several festival awards and attracted significant interest from broadcasters (TF1, OCS). He later became the co-creator and co-director of the comically edgy animated series „Gustave“ (France TV Slash). After participating musically in various feature films, he made his acting debut in the police series „Polar Park“ (Arte). In 2024, he presents „In the Shadow“ (Bloom Production), a new short film where he embraces his passion for horror.

Director Statement

„In the Shadows“ is a dive into darkness. A slow descent into hell in the obscurity. The viewer is thrust into a race against time, where the heroes unknowingly walk into a trap that awaits to close in on them. How can we fight against the immutable? How can we outsmart the sun at its own game?
As the last rays of light fade, nature becomes increasingly alive, sending a deadly emissary for an ultimate sacrifice. The idea here is to offer a short burst of thrill, an adrenaline-fueled entertainment that plays on the basic fears of what animates the night, while opening the door for those who wish to explore a larger mythology that positions this film as an introduction to something greater.
